We cultivate a curated selection of edible, native, and ecologically supportive plants, giving South Florida gardeners the tools and knowledge to grow with confidence. At its heart, this work is about helping people grow their own food and sharing in the joy of collaborating with nature.
Our History
Our history has been one of thoughtful growth. Over the years, we have pruned what no longer served us, nurtured what showed promise, and made room for new ideas to take root, blossom, and bear fruit.
In 2014, founders Muriel Olivares and Tiffany Noe came together around a simple shared vision: to empower people through connections with food and ecology. Since then, we have expressed that vision in many forms: farmers market booths, a multi-farm CSA with over 200 members, specialty crop production for local chefs, an urban farmer incubator program, and workshops on composting, fermenting, gardening, and tropical herbalism.
Along the way, we have donated more than 50,000 plants to local nonprofits, had three kids, moved our business four times, and accumulated 30 years of combined experience growing food in South Florida.
From the beginning, running a nursery and building gardens have been at the heart of our work. As our organization has evolved, those pursuits have continued to flourish. Today, they are our central focus. To bring a little more clarity to what we do, for longtime customers and those just discovering us, we are embracing two new names: Little River Gardens and Little River Nursery.
To our community, thank you for growing with us. And to those just joining us, welcome. We are excited for what is taking root next, and for the many ways we hope to continue supporting and engaging with the city we love.

Frequently Asked Questions
How are you related to Little River Cooperative?
How are you related to Little River Cooperative?
We are one and the same but in the summer of 2026 we decide to transition into two distinct and unique brands; Little River Nursery & Little River Gardens. The goal of this name change was clarity for our customers, since what we do has changed a lot since we came up with that name. We still grow seedlings & install and maintain vegetable gardens, we’re just doing it with two new names.
How can I receive support for my community facing garden project?
How can I receive support for my community facing garden project?
If you need material support for a community facing garden project check out our “donations” page and consider taking advantage of the program. We donate all plants aging out of our nursery to local non-profits. If you need information, email mail@littlerivernursery.co and we will do our best to provide you with the resources you need.
Do you have a farm and sell vegetables?
Do you have a farm and sell vegetables?
We no longer farm vegetables nor do we sell them at the market or at the nursery. If you come to the nursery to shop you’ll see that we are surrounded by vegetable fields, and it makes total sense that you want to buy some beautiful veggies while visiting. The vegetables are part of French Farms, which is a separate business. They can be bought online and picked up at the nursery on Saturdays & Sundays.
Looks like you aren't located in the Little River neighborhood, Why the name?
Looks like you aren't located in the Little River neighborhood, Why the name?
When we first started our urban farm it was on a vacant lot right along the Little River, in the Little River neighborhood. It’s a bit of a tradition for farms to name themselves after nearby natural bodies, like rivers and mountains. Since then we have operated in North Miami, Little Haiti, Allapattah, and now in the Redlands. Through every move we have maintained the name because it’s where everything started. Our hearts are always in Little River and in every neighborhood we serve.
